Who makes this
CartoonPerson is built and run by Jack, an independent developer based in Shenzhen, China. There is no big company behind it — one person designs, codes, tests and supports everything you see here. That keeps the product small, fast to improve, and honest: if something on this site says the tool can do something, it is because it actually does.
What CartoonPerson does
CartoonPerson turns a photo into a cartoon portrait. You upload one clear photo, pick one of 24 art styles — from 3D animation to hand-painted anime, watercolor, pixel art and more — and the AI renders a stylized portrait, usually 10–30 seconds. Output is high-resolution 2K (2048px), suitable for profile pictures, social banners and prints up to A4.
Under the hood it uses state-of-the-art image generation models. Every style ships with a hand-tuned prompt so you never have to write one yourself.
How it's run
- One-time credit packs, no subscription. You buy a pack, use the credits within a year, and that's it. No recurring charges.
- Failed generations don't cost credits. Credits are only deducted after a render succeeds.
- Your photos aren't the product. Generated images stay available to download for 24 hours and are automatically removed from our storage about a week later. You can delete any image immediately from your history.
Honest limitations
AI stylization is not perfect. Likeness varies by style and by photo — clear, well-lit, front-facing portraits work best, and some styles trade realism for artistic effect. If a result disappoints, trying a different style or a better-lit photo usually helps, and the failed attempts never consume your credits.
